In 2020, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign joined the Tick App team. Due to COVID-19 the UoI had to refocus their I-TICK program to be “contact free”, now participants can submit tick pictures through the Tick App instead of delivering and sending in the actual ticks to the local hub and the UoI.

Anyone from Illinois, and from the US Northeast and Midwest, is welcome to use the Tick App. You do not have to been part of I-TICK before.

The Illinois Tick Inventory Collaboration networK (I-TICK) is a surveillance program to gather information about ticks of public health concern in Illinois to determine the risk of tick-borne disease based on where and when ticks occur.
